Virginia Beach Beast
TRUCK NAME: Virginia Beach Beast
MAKE: Chevrolet Blazer body, a 1942 M4 Tank Retriver Base
OWNER/DRIVER: William Townes
TOWN/CITY: Virginia Beach
ENGINE SIZE: 454cubic inch supercharged engine
INFORMATION: This was the first monster truck tank to be built. Many
more later followed. William got the idea for his creation after seeing
a cartoon in a four wheel drive magazine, which showed a truck body with
a gun, on a tank tracks. So he decided to build himeself one, without the
gun though. The tank tracks are from a M4 Tank Retriver, whch was used
in world war 2. The truck can drive over cars at perculiar angles, which
leave the spectators thinking that the tank will tip over at any minute,
but the Virginia Beach Beast is so bottom heavy, that it can be really
slung about over the cars, with no fear of tipping over.
