With the two trucks loaded into the trailers, it was time to take
them to the Bloomsburg fairgrounds. By car it was only a 30-40 minute drive
away. But when your in a rig pulling a great big trailer, there is certain
roads you can't go on. So it took us about one & a half hours to get
there.
Sitting high up in John's Freightliner rig, & with Andy in his
Eradicator hauler following us behind, it reminded me of when I was younger,
watching the film 'Smokey & the Bandit' and 'Convoy'. It was always
a dream of mine to ride in a big American rig, & now it was coming
true. Both John & Andy have their truck logo's on the side of their
trailers, so on the journey to the Fairgrounds, people would wave or honk
their horns as they drove past.
When we arrived at the Fairgrounds, at about 5pm we checked in with
the Special Events officials,
& where given our colored wristbands & passes to allow us access
into the infield. John introduced to me to a number of different people.
I felt honored when one person that he introduced me, straight away knew
of my website, with just the mention of my name. She said that I was "world
renowned." A comment that John wouldn't let me live down !
Once we had signed in, it was time to set up camp, & unload the
trucks. Dan Patrick with Samson, was the only other Monster Truck that
was there when we arrived.
We first unloaded Eradicator, & got the tires on that.
Rolling those tires around is quite hard work, it's not as easy as it
looks, especially
if the ground slopes !!
It takes about 30 minutes to put those big tires on. It all depends
on how many people you have to help you. John often travels to shows on
his own, like many other Monster Truck drivers, so has to put those big
tires on, all by himself.
Just after we finished putting the tires on the Sudden Impact truck,
the BIGFOOT hauler pulled up with Dan Runte & HerbieRichards.
While BIGFOOT got set up, Andy Slifko drove the Eradicator truck over
to the Trail Master stand, as on the Friday, there would be to many people
around to move it then.

With Eradicator all secure for the night & Sudden Impact parked
up next to the trailer, John's wife Hollie, who had driven down in her
car took us back, while Andy drove home with the crew.
