Friday evenings racing started out with the Chicago style racing
first. This is where two trucks go around the same course in a circle but
start at the opposite end, on the opposite side. So basically they are
chasing each other. This puts the drivers skills to their tests in
using their turning skills & also use the power of their machines.
Round 1 action saw John Seasock in the Sudden Impact beating Andy
Hoffman in the Dodge Nitemare. Andy also ended up breaking his fan belt
on the truck.
The local favorite from Missouri, was Guy Wood in the Bulldozer truck.
As he lined the truck up ready to race, Guy made smoke come out of the
Bulls nose, much to the pleasure of the crowd. However he was beaten
by Scott Harstock in the Gun Slinger. David Morris in the Equalizer had
a by-run as Samson was unable to make it until the next day, making an
odd amount of trucks to race.
Semi final action saw Sudden Impact beaten by the fast loser
of round one, who was the Bulldozer truck. Equalizer beat the Gun Slinger
in a photo finish.
This put Bulldozer & Equalizer into the first finals of the weekend.
In a very close race, David Morris in the Equalizer, just had the
edge over Guy Wood in Bulldozer to take the win.
In the straight line racing, first round action was supposed to be
Nitemare against Bulldozer, but after pushing his truck too much in the
final, Bulldozer had mechanical problems, which put him out of action for
the rest of the night. So with Bulldozer out of action, Nitemare went up
against Sudden Impact, who was supposed to have a by-run. In a close race
Nitemare took the win, after Sudden Impact did a major wheel spin as he
pulled away from the lights. This gave Nitemare the edge & Andy Hoffman
took the win. Gun Slinger took the win over Equalizer.
The first straight line finals of the weekend came down to Gun Slinger
against Nitemare. Scott Harstock took the win as he powered the Ford Gun
Slinger truck to the finish line, just beating the Dodge Nitemare.
