On Friday 26th January, the Salem Civic Center played
host once again, to a Checkered Flag
Promotions Monster Truck show, along with Extreme Motocross &
Tough Trucks.
The trucks there to do battle where Godzilla,
Frightmare, Mercenary, After Shock & BIGFOOT.
The Monster Truck action started with side by side
racing. With much of the arena being taken up by the supercross course
(which also was part of the tough truck course), the Monster Truck course
was a short straight forward track.
The first two truck to go up against each other, was
husband & wife Team Steve and Sherry Hearley, with Steve driving Godzilla
& Sherry driving Frightmare. The lighter Godzilla truck, took the win
against Frightmare.

After Shock Vs Mercenary
Next up was After Shock driven by Joe Nichter up against Mercenary
(formerly the Gator truck) driven by Jimmy Harrington, who took the win..
BIGFOOT
And BIGFOOT 10 driven by Eric Meagher, was given a by-run.
Semi final Monster Truck action saw Godzilla beating Mercenary.

The other semi final race saw fastest loser After Shock, lose against
BIGFOOT.

The Finals came down to Steve Hearley in Godzilla & Eric Meagher
in BIGFOOT.
In a very close race, which also saw Godzilla with rear brake problems,
Eric Meagher took the win in BIGFOOT.
