Next ,the crowd would be treated to a Monster truck wheelie contest. The trucks would approach the cars, touch them with there
front tires and try to put the trucks straight up in the air.
The two trucks that would do combat in this contest were Steve Woodard in Ground Pounder, and Chuck in Grave Digger.

The Grave Digger came out first. As Chuck hit the cars (which had not been crushed), the right rear tire of the truck climbed on the roof of the first car and the left one hit the trunk. This put Grave Digger truck into a weird position & as the trucks tires lifted into the air, everybody in the Coliseums jaw seemed to drop as it looked like Digger was going over. But somehow Chuck managed to pull it back on all four wheels, much to the pleasure of the crowds, who errupted into a cheer.

I thought for sure Chucks wheelie could not be beat, but out came Steve in Ground Pounder who sent his truck straight up into a wheelie & nearly ripped the tail gate off the truck. Ground Pounder was declared the victor.

The Ground Pounder truck actually rolled the following evening at the Coliesum !!
