FASTRAX
TRUCK NAME: BIGFOOT Fastrax
MAKE: 1959 M84 Personnel Carrier with a 1990 Fiberglass Ford Aerostar
body on top
OWNER/DRIVER: Bob Chandler
ENGINE : 2x 460cubic inches Ford's
INFORMATION: The Fastrax was the first vehicle not originally made by
BIGFOOT. Bob bought it off a friend from Colorado, in 1988. When he first
got it, it had two Chevy. engines, and it had a steering wheel to steer it. He
soon changed that, by putting two Ford engines in. As he found that it
was very hard to steer at high speed, using a steering wheel, he changed
it to two joysticks to control it.
It was originally over 12' wide &
over 42,000lbs. It is now just over 8' wide & weighs under 24,000lbs.
It made it's first apperance in the fall of 1988 at the Pontiac Silverdome. Click on the images below, to see them larger:-
