TRUCK NAME: BIGFOOT 4

MAKE : 1997 F150 Ford Pickup, (built in 1984)
OWNER/DRIVER: Bob Chandler
TOWN/CITY: St Louis, MO
ENGINE SIZE: 572 cubic inch
INFORMATION: BIGFOOT 4 was built in 1984, but didn't make it's debut
until 1985, in New Orleans.
The truck did wear the 10 foot tires of
BIGFOOT 5 for a while.
The photo above was taken in March 97 in Wyoming,
at a Ford dealership promotion.
The truck sported a new 1997 F150 body. The
truck appears to be totally rebuilt. It has a brand new body cage &
every fastner, nut & bolt appear to be new. The cage setup looked pretty good.
The bars of the cage are welded to steal plates, which bolt onto the frame.
It looks as though if the truck crashed, the body & cage could be unbolted
right down to the frame, & replaced.
The truck has crashed quite a
few times. This truck had one particular crash at the Nashville Motor Speedway,
driven by John Piant. The truck hit the pit wall, while driving at full
speed. It blew both of the drivers side tires, destroying both wheels,
& toatlly ripping the back axle from the truck. Now front link bars are fitted, to stop that from happening.
BIGFOOT 4, like all of the other BIGFOOT trucks, often changes it's body depending on the show. In 1998 it appeared at some shows as Snakebite & others, sporting the new Ford F-350 Superduty body.
