Monster Truck Driver Interviews

Driver & owner of the Sudden Impact truck, John Seasock has been driving monster trucks for eight years.
I put some questions to him about driving a monster truck, & here's what he had to say :-
    Q) How did you get into Monster Truck Racing ?

    A) After having a lifted pickup & then seeing Monster Trucks, at a show in Philadelphia, I knew I wanted to have one. I asked people for advice about getting into the sport & ended up buying one. That was my first Sudden Impact truck. I also drove the Devil's Dodge Monster Truck, for a couple of years.

    Q) Where was the first time you crushed some cars ?

    A) "The first time I crushed some cars was at a town carnival"

    Q) Was there a big crowd ?

    A) "I was the only truck there & there was aprox. 6,000 peole there."

    Q) What was going through your mind before the crush ?

    A) "There is alot that goes through your mind, will the truck brake, will it hurt, will I flip  will the crowd like it ?"

    Q) Where you nervous ?

    A) "I was really nervous"

    Q) Eight years on, do you still get nervous ?

    A) "I still get nervous before a show, but it's a good nervous. It's a rush"

    Q) Whats it like when you start the engine up ?

    A) "Once I put my helmet on, I feel at home. When you fire up a 1200 horsepower motor & feel the power it has, it's hard to beat.

    Q) How do you prepare for the race ?

    A) "I like to get to a stadium early & look up from the floor into the stands. It's hard to belive that  in a matter of a couple of hours it goes from empty to having to having a track made & being  sold out.

    Q) Have you always wanted to do it ?

    A) "This was a dream of mine since I was a little kid"

    Q) Is it hard work being a driver ?

    A) "Doing monster trucks is alot of hard work!!! but it is somthing that I wouldn't trade for the  world. I have fans from all over the world & thay make it all worth while!"
