Making a Monster Truck
A lot of people have been interested in monster truck building, but few have actually attempted the feat. Most people who dare to attempt it simply take an existing 4x4 truck and try to modify it to look like a monster truck. These types of modifications don't necessarily qualify the truck to jump over cars, but some of the trucks sure look like they could do that.
Here are a few things you could try if you wanted to make your truck look more like a monster truck:
- Lift your Truck. Lifting your truck can be expensive, but give it that raised monster look that the real monster trucks have. Lifting your truck may hinder it's stability, so be sure you know what you are doing before you try and lift a 4,000 pound vehicle.
- Bigger Tires. One of the key features that monster trucks have are the larger sized tires that are capable of crushing almost anything. While those custom tires can be thousands of dollars a piece, you might be able to upgrade your stock 4x4 truck tires with something a little larger. Look online for tire and wheel upgrades, but make sure that they will fit your truck. Also, be sure to have your speedometer re-adjusted because the reading will not be correct with the larger tires.
- Grill Guards. Putting some metal protecting your headlights and tail lights make your truck look a little more mean and a little bit more like a real monster truck.
There are plenty of other upgrades you can do to your truck to give it that monster look and feel. Just look online; there are plenty of people that want to do the same thing as you, and a whole industry that creates products targeting exactly what you want. |
